What should I budget for my landscaping project?

There is no one-size-fits-all approach to landscaping. As part of the landscaping process, we ask a series of questions to make sure we’re constructing the landscape according to your vision, but we’re asking you to be honest and upfront about your expectations and your budget.

At what height do you cut the lawn?

There is a lot of variation between different species of grass. Cutting the grass too short can weaken the growth pattern and allow weed growth. Keeping it too long can be unsightly and more hospitable to various critters. You will have to find what works best for your lawn; and that’s why we’re here!

Do you catch or recycle the clippings?

Since grass clippings are 80% water and nutrients, I like to mulch them back into the turf (along with fall leaves). To build long-term, highly organic soil, these mulchings are the best compost you can use.

Do you offer other services such as pools, irrigation systems or fences?

We focus on our core landscape services. Nevertheless, we work closely with companies that do offer these services and will be happy to refer you to a reputable one.

Can I phase in my landscaping installation?

Without a doubt! It is common for us to complete landscaping projects in phases depending upon your budget and time frame. Throughout the project, we will work with you to plan each step.

Should I choose sod or seed for my lawn?

If your lawn contains 40-50% weeds or dead grass, it is generally better to start over with new sod. However if more than half of it appears healthy it is best to plant seed and manually get the weeds under control.

How do plants and trees help?

According to the Plants for Clean Air Council, efficient landscaping can reduce cooling and heating costs by up to 20%. Plants and trees also absorb ozone-damaging pollutants, providing us with a cleaner environment!

How long does it take to landscape my home or business?

For an average-sized home, a basic front yard landscaping project will typically take 2-3 days. Landscape projects in backyards are typically more complex and take an average of two weeks per acre to complete.

How can a well landscaped lawn help to sell my home?

Presenting your home well is key to selling it. The presence of an attractive, well-maintained landscape can make potential buyers feel welcome, and could increase the value of the home.
